Huntington Beach
Since we have moved, people always ask me, "What do you miss most about California?" My answers is always the same. I miss #1 My family #2 The Beach #3 Disneyland. This last trip, we were finally able to go to the Beach. It reminded us of exactly why we miss it! We love the Beach. Besides the hike from the car to "our spot" (which was pretty successful until Brooklynne tripped and face planted in the sand-and even after that we managed to regroup), everything was perfect! Kaden and Ryder loved playing near the water, hunting sand crabs, and building castles. Brooklynne was pretty much the opposite. She did not like to go near the water, she examined the sand crabs, and she even poked at a couple of them, but her favorite spot was up on the dry sand near me. You could not drag her away from the dry sand. She was doing forward rolls, headstands, and laying in it too. After all that, she would come and lay on my back! One of the many perks of being a Mother. Ironically enough, that was MY favorite part! Those little moments where the kids HAD to involve me by touching me, laying on me, digging with me, bringing me all their crabs, etc. They wanted to make sure that I was having as much fun as they were. I used to love laying out, but this-this was much more fun! I loved being there and creating those fun memories like I did when I was a kid. As for Mark, having had beach with drawls in Vegas and not knowing what "real water" looks like anymore, he had the time of his life playing with the kids. All in all, it was the perfect trip.

Hurray! A new post! I love all the pictures! Everyone looks adorable. I love Brooklyn's glasses!
Yes the beach I would miss that too. Don't you guys have a lake you could go to for a day and just play around in the water? That to me is better than the Beach. Love your pictures. Blogging isn't so hard. Once you get the hang of it.
Katie and Mark, what a brilliant re creation of a day at the beach. As a child when our grandparents said "we're picking you up to go to the beach," it was the best invitation ever! There is something about those billowing waves, the brilliant sunshine and warm breezes that lifts our spirits and life never seems better than this. Sharing those times with our children, there is nothing better. Thank you for reminding us....Love The Grands
